A couple months back, I was given the opportunity to get a StudentX TED talk which is kinda like a TED talk, except for the fact that it’s completely run and organized by students (which is pretty dope). After applying, I got it and had 2 weeks to write, memorize, and perform a speech on any topic of my choosing and me being me, I chose to write on us, theYOUTH and how youth culture defines our generation and the importance of ‘communitas’. Have no idea what I’m talking about? Its cool cause it’ll all be explained in my speech.
I know that I gave a speech like 3 or 4 months ago so why am I putting it up now? Well, I watched it for the first time yesterday and realized that I think it’s a speech that everyone should hear. I’ll keep it 100 with you and say that ya girl was nervous and insecure about putting it up because I put my heart in this speech and spilled my feelings to hundreds of people and I wasn’t ready for everyone to see it.
Wow, I sound like Drake right now; all in my feelings and shit.
Wellllll, below is the video. Watch it, comment, hate it, love it, email me, tell me what you think. Do whatever. It’s your life.
Stay young and safe and don’t forget that we the culture.
